Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake with Gold Dust (optional) Use: 8 in or 9 in tart tin 1 tablespoon ground almonds plus extra for dusting
1 - 12-oz. bag of dark chocolate baking chips
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
pinch of salt
5 large eggs
edible gold dust (optional) Preheat the oven to 350F. Brush the tin with a little melted butter and dust with the ground almonds, shaking off any excess. Melt the chocolate, sugar, butter and salt in a microwave bowl in 30 second intervals, stirring in between. Whisk the eggs with the ground almonds and fold into the chocolate mixture. The mixture will thicken after a few minutes. Pour into the cake tin and bake for 35-40 minutes. Let the cake cool, then dust with edible gold dust.
