He's pretty old & showing some health problems. Acquired him about a yr. ago when his owner, who didn't treat him well, no longer wanted him. I hadn't counted on getting a dog like that - the breed & his age, but he's better off here than where he was. He's shown remarkable improvement & is actually pretty sweet, he just needed a chance & some attention.And I have a 4 yr. old black lab named Rufus McGoofus, he's a big lovebug. I've had him since he was 3 months old & he was a gift from my bf. Rufus doesn't meet a stranger. lol He's really sweet.Have a Great Dane named Scooby who is approaching 4 months. Got ghim at 6-7 wks. He's also sweet, yet pretty destructive. Still trying the whole training thing. He likes to eat socks. I have a dog, Ellie, she's 19 months and she gets into everything! She also loooooooooves my socks and no one elses! She is suppose to be part retriever and part lab but she's mainly retriever and border collie (everyone comments on it), she's just been hard to train though! And she sprained her neck when she was just a pup (around 6 months old or so) and it has been a recurring problem, so far we've only had one bought of her neck problem since xmas.

It's nice having a dog around again though, our last dog we had for 13 years and had to put her down because she was sick, we waited 2 and half years to get another one and that's after saying that we would never get another one.

Do you have a pic of her? lol @ her eating only your socks. It's nice to know my dog isn't the only one w/ an appetite for socks. Scooby is also hard to train & kennel training is proving to be more effective w/ him. He's starting to catch on, but it's definitely been work. lol Sorry about the loss of your other dog. I couldn't picture getting another dog after having to put my other one down but I saw Ellie and who could resist, it just took 2 and half years to find the right dog.

I love to show her off, I take enough pics of her! lol She does have a full tail. Our dog before this one, had a thyroid problem (after changing vets, they finally diagnosed her as having a thyroid problem, thought it was cancer before that at age 7) and she had lost most of her fur on her tail (and a bit on her nose) and it never really came back.. Ellie does have soft fur,

I'm sorry about your other dog, it sounds like she really endured alot hardship by having cancer & that couldn't have been easy for you either. hugs Dave ~ You're right, a very proud Aunt indeed & rightly so.
